We have two locations.
Hood River Equestrian Trail Rides on Horseback are staged at the Double
Mountain Ranch Stables and lessons are in Odell unless otherwise noted.
The horseback riding stable is in the Hood River Heights approximately 3.5 miles south
of the Hood River OR. city center. The horse pastures are surrounded by
lavender Farms, vineyards and pear orchards and have breathtaking wide
open views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams
Double Mountain Ranch is a private horse stable accessed by reservation only. DMR
is located at 3995 Portland Drive, Hood River Oregon 97031.. We are along the Hood
River Fruit Loop next door to the Lavender Valley Farm on the west side. Look for the Horse2Heart.com sign at the driveway.
Trail Riding: You choose your ride: Both morning and afternoon rides are available

We pride ourselves on Safety. Our Wrangler Guides are Fun, Respectful and Helpful. They are locals of the Columbia Gorge and well versed on the native cultures. Double Mountain Ranch has been leading private horseback rides in Hood River for years.
Boots and hard hats (helmets) are available for your use at no charge. Cowboy Up!
Pick your Trail Ride - Group rides are open bookings with up to 8 riders. Private rides are for your own group only. Private rides for 4 or more get the group rate.

Creekside Shady Ride
Cruise along the freshwater creek running between giant orchards and vineyards into the shade of tall trees. Double Mountain views of Mount Hood and Mount Adams fill the horizon. The open areas provide a chance to pick up the pace and stretch the horse’s legs if desired. This ride is suitable for all ages.

Orchard to the Hood River Beach Ride
Meander through the ripening pear orchards to the rushing Hood River banks. As the trail opens up we have the chance to pick up the pace. A small beach at river’s edge offers rest and waterfall viewing.

Sunset on the Mountain Ride
The glory of the sky plays out in ever changing color mirrored from the mountain tops. Breathe in the rising aromas of the evening air as the shadows grow long. We can set our own pace and stop for refreshments at will.

Winery Tour Ride
Horseback Ride to the Winery! Relax and enjoy the breathtaking mountain and valley views. Our tour winds past lavender fields, tall orchards and through the vineyards as we make our way to an award winning world class winery. While at the wine bar take your time to enjoy wine, tasting flights, food pairings, gardens and music in first class surroundings. Wine and food are purchased from the Winery. Wine purchases can be packed back to the stables if requested.

Horseback Riding Adventurers Ride
This is an all out walk, trot and canter ride suitable for those who have had horseback riding experience. This ride covers a lot of ground at a quicker pace. Not for the timid or young children.

Post Canyon to Mitchell Point Ride
This is a rare horseback adventure with private land use offered only by Hood River Equestrian.
We bring the horses to the famous Post Canyon Trail for you. The ride starts at the trail head leading into the National Columbia Gorge Scenic Forest along the Lewis and Clark Journey Trail. We’ll ride below the wind, inside the deep forest shade, along fern grottos, to Mitchell Point for a full view of the Columbia River Gorge from high atop the forest. After rest and refreshment we make our gentle decent down ‘teepee trail’ on Native American pathways among maple and fir trees of magnificence.
Two hour horseback tour suitable for all ages $175.00
